Hewlitt opened in March 1993, as a seven bedded house for elderly people with learning disability.
In June 2000 an extension was completed to enable Hewlitt to offer accommodation for eight people. In April 2013 the building was reconfigured to provide a fully separate and independent flat, with the residential accommodation reducing to six beds.
Situated next to the Firs, the home is in a semi rural location, with good access to local shops and the main shopping centre of Watford.
There are five bedrooms on the ground floor, together with a large lounge which opens into the dining room, and an accessible kitchen and bathroom, together with a separate toilet. A further bedroom is situated upstairs, together with the laundry room and the staff office. All bedrooms have call systems and ceiling-mounted hoists where appropriate.
Hewlitt is set in a large open plan garden with some mature trees, fruit trees and bushes which is maintained on a regular basis. There are ample parking facilities.
This home is regulated by CQC.
