Support Worker – Full Time (37 hours per week)

Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, WD5

Salary £16,500 pa

We are currently looking for caring, self motivated staff for our vacancies in our Abbots Langley service.  Previous experience is not essential as full training provided.  Applicants must have held a current manual driving license for at least 12 months.

As a Support Worker, you would provide a high standard of care and support for service users in a residential setting.  Our service users have learning disabilities and some also have physical disabilities. Our aim is to empower service users in their daily lives and encourage them to lead a full and active life.  Support Workers are required to carry out day-to-day tasks with the service users, assist them in making decisions, and enable the development of appropriate skills.

Previous experience is not essential, however you must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and POVA check.

In return, LOT offers an extensive training and development package, contributory pension scheme, and an employee assistance programme.  Support Workers are also expected to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care if they have not already got this qualification. Achievement of this qualification invites a pay award.

 

Female Outreach Support Workers – Full time & Part Time (various hours available) Flexible Rota over 7 days

Watford & Surrounding Area

Salary £16,500 pa (pro rata for part time)

Our Outreach Team is the face of our care in the community.  As an Outreach Support Worker you would provide high quality, flexible, person-centred support for clients in their own homes.  You would encourage clients’ individuality and independence, enabling them to remain in the community.  The role also involves personal care, medication, preparation of meals and domestic duties.

Clients may have learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, or may just need extra support.

You must also be willing to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure.  The Trust is looking to recruit a female member of staff due to the needs within the service, and being female is therefore an occupational requirement.

Occupational Requirement: This post involves personal care with the service user therefore it is an occupational requirement that all post holders are female.

The successful candidate  must have held a current manual driving license for at least 12 months and be willing to use their own car; be able to undertake admin tasks; communicate effectively and work shift work including evening, night and weekend duties and client holidays as required.

Previous experience is not essential, however you must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and POVA check.

After 2 years service: 4 weeks & 3 days
After 5 years service: 5 weeks & 1 day

These are pro-rata for part-time staff.

 Bank Relief Staff

We are always looking to recruit relief staff to all our Homes, especially in Abbots Langley, Stevenage and Hounslow. Such staff will work on a casual basis, as and when required. Pay: £7.77 per hour plus an annual leave provision.  Please note that bank staff are required to pay for their DBS disclosure which is a cost of £49.99.
